East Jakarta Joint Officers Removing Political Props

Entering quiet day of campaign period, as many as 600 Public Order Agency (satpol PP) personnel and 228 members of East Jakarta campaign supervisory committee (panwaslu), making removal of campaign props (APK), Monday (4/7). The sudden removal also involving Police and Army officers.

Head of East Jakarta Campaign Supervisory Committee, Iflahah Zuhriyaten said, actually the quiet day has started on last Sunday (4/6), but the removal of campaign props just started on Monday. It is done to give tolerance to all political parties, legislative candidates of representative house, the parliaments, and regional representative to remove its campaign props. But unluckily, it was not conducted yet. So, he and related authority have to suddenly remove the campaign props in 10 districts.

"We give priority to remove props along the protocol roads. After that, it will be continued to all spots, even on trees, fences, bridges etc," Iflahah said.

Campaign Attributes are still Rampant in West Jakarta

Iflanah added that all members of urban village and sub-district Panwaslu were involved together with public order agency personnel to speed up the effort. It is hoped the campaign props could be removed from East Jakarta in a day.

According to him, the tolerance given by Panwaslu was not responded by the candidates. There was still a banner owned by Aburizal Bakrie in front of Kampung Melayu terminal on Jalan Jatinegara Timur. Next were in UKI Cawang, along East Flood Canal, and Jalan Dewi Sartika.

The attachment of campaign props during quiet cay is a form of campaign criminal violation. His side would punish if there is party or candidate who still attaching the props. unfortunately, he did not tell the detail sanction.

Meanwhile, the East Jakarta Vice Mayor Husein Murad stated the campaign props in his area has decreased. "Thanks to the public order agency personnel who removed the props," he stated.

When the news is written, there was no final report regarding the props removal since the personnel were still on duty at 10 sub-districts. The effort would be done on Tuesday (4/8). It means the East Jakarta Panwaslu will release the final data on Tuesday evening.
